This is what Steve Stephens said at one time, if I remember correctly. Now to start with, these were made after Griswold was merged into Wagner. Then along come the Randall Company, I don't know the timeline right off the top of my head, but, one of the subsidiaries of Randall was a tubing place, you know, where they bent tubing to make whatever, and so it was speculated that this subsidiary of Randall made these step stools, for Wagner, who sold them under the Griswold name. The Griswold name is on the rubber part of the steps.
And Chuck, I agree with Jesse, you didn't miss much. That guy that outbid you did you a favor. I have seen them, they are cheaply made, just as stated here. It was just another sales ploy to sell the griswold name, because if you needed a step stool, then you should have bought a good one. So they ain't much punkin.
