What is the best way to even up a warped cast iron skillet?Seems to me there has to be a proven way by all the C/I folks out there. Is there a good Metallurgist that can help on this or a lay person? All info would be appreciated. Thanks

I've only heard of one person that was able to do it with any success.  He heated the piece red hot and used a series of presses and custom made pieces that kept the piece from being stressed too much and cracking.   I think he then let the pieces cool very slowly.   He only described the process, so I never saw the finished work and he's no longer on the forum here.   I've never heard of anyone else who was able to remove any warp from cast iron.
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

There is not a cost effective way that is 100% successful to remove warps.  Cast iron is too brittle and the one person that has done it spent a lot of effort and still had 'scaling' from the process.
