Who made this??
« on: January 21, 2010, 08:36:40 PM »
This has probably been discussed before but I tried searching for it and came up with nothing.  Looks just like an Iron Mountain piece but its not.  I feel like I should know the answer to this question??  Here are some measurements

Iron Mountain    15 3/8"L   10 1/2"W     3 1/16"T   (3 lbs 11 oz lid) (5 lbs 5 oz skillet)
Mystery Pan       15 1/8"L   10 7/16"W   3 1/8"T     (3 lbs 8 oz lid)  (6 lbs skillet)

I THINK (and I need Harry to back me up 'cuz we discussed this I THINK) these were made in Sidney after both W and G came under one ownership.  Harry, we did talk about this, didn't we?

I knew that it was not an IM when I bought it.  The piece came finished from the factory.  The modifications they made are strange??  The cooking surface is wavy and there is what I would call slag on certain parts of this piece.  It could have been just this piece.  It is still the same quality as an IM and I am sure that it was made in the USA.

Does the lid look like Favorite or Chicago Hardware Foundry? I THINK it does to me. We have seen that lid before.  :-/

Jeff, here is one like yours but it is high domed and for a dutch oven. This didn't come with a bottom but it looks like it came from the same company that made yours. I wish that I could identify it but like you I have no idea on who made these.

Hmm I could sure buy that the top of your piece is Wagner but the basting rings sure don't look like anything that they made??

Sandy, WE did talk about this chicken fryer, if this is the one marked "chicken Fryer or Chicken Pan" on the bottom. I think they are Wagner made pieces but I couldn't prove that.
