Pobably not much chance of IDing this but it never hurts to ask. I've done some looking around, but can't find any info.

4 Profile. The only marking is the #8 on top of the handle.

Chuck, I think I've seen one similar, but there are lots of these that are unmarked.  Sorry but I don't have any idea who made it.  It looks nice though.   :D

Thank You Roger. That's what I thought, but I figured I would ask. It is a well cast, lightwieght piece. I only wish that I could find the lid for one of these. It would be nice to have a colplete on.

Yeah, it would be nice to see pics of a complete one. Looks to be much lighter weight than the 875/876 double I have from Griswold.

Very much lighter Ray. I have the bottom half of the Griswold, and it's a tank in comparison to this one. I'm guessing that a lid for this was an option like the other broilers I've seen, including the Griswold.

I don't understand. How was that piece used and what was it used for.  I know it wouldn't be very good for cooking eggs, in fact probably not good for lots of things.  Does it sit on top of a no 8 skillet ?  I've never seen anything like it.  David

David, The broiler sat in a stove eye after the cover was removed back in the day.
