Utensils

Did any of the major foundries produce cast iron cooking utensils such as potato mashers, meat tenderizers or any of those types of things? I have been looking at some on ebay, but not sure where they may have been produced or what time period.

Hi Gary,    Both Wagner and Griswold made a variety of different kitchen utensils....spoons, scoops, juicers, butter/cheese slicers, etc., etc.  I can't help you with the manufacturer of your masher, but I use one almost just like it, and it is my favorite potato masher.  Come back often and ask all the questions you want...we will try to get the answers for you.

Ray and Gary, it looks to me like the one on ebay and Scotts are twins.  :-/

I aggree.

I see a difference, What do I win.  :P  The hole pattern is different. Ebay one has Circular holes, Scotts has kernel shaped holes.

Exactly what I meant (hole pattern) when I mentioned my preference. Definitely not twins  ;)

Works great for making chunky applesauce too......I like the idea about using it for flattening and imparting a design on peanut butter cookies...I'll have to try that one.
