That's a big one. Kinda reminds of the ones a guy from Australia posted here years ago. Very nice. To get a reference on price look up the prices of a 16 Lodge Camp Oven.

I would buy that in a heartbeat, no questions asked. You could feed the multitudes with that DO.

I don't think so Dwayne,,  the seller said he got it on Calumet island from a farm house

Kind of looks like an old L'islet , he is going to send me more photos of it as I type this and will  add them here.

I actually have a buyer for it at $175,,

I just noticed on  1st photo, around  4 o'clock on the lid  is about a 2"  piece missing on the lid,  it doesn't appear to  go past the  top of lid, and since I'm  going to flip this piece on the way home after buying it, i wanted to get some opinions on wether it will effect the lids  purpose,,

thanks

Didn't BS&R use that bail attachment design?

Here's a photo of the lid concern,,

I know it devalues it  because of this ,  but I'm thinking the lid should still do it's job?

thanks

Well,  I  got it today , definately older piece with the gatemark on bottom  and inside lid,   lid had  No, 16  on it,  could not see   the bottom as there  was some seasoning to be cleaned..  the new owner will clean it up and send me photos once  done

The seller came  down to $40 bucks,   and I flipped it for price mentioned,,

sigh,  I kind of wanted to keep it too :)

IMO this piece is by Noyes & Nutter. They made an early version like this with just the size on the lid and with a handle and bail attachment like this one.

My guess on the age, and it's only a guess would be 1880 or so. I can't speak to the individual pieces as the only ones I know of were when I built my set, but I saw a fully marked set, 10, 12, 14, and 16 go for $1500, with one cracked piece and the 16 should be the highest. Considering the lid damage you got a great price, someone must have really wanted i bad.
