I was hoping Cheryl or one of the CI gurus would have some info about this item.  My wife presented me with said item about 5 years ago, and, not having seen mention of this particular brand of cast iron, am trying to trace it's parentage.  I fear the worst, that I am the not-so-proud owner of an oriental wanna-be.  Something about the missing letters in Philadelphia gives me pause.

Lee, there is a list of known foundries on the Members side which includes the Thompson & Parkins teakettles. However it is a Members only page. Just one of the perks of being a member,

Lee, without a picture I can't guess with any certainty...
But I fear you may be correct.  Depends on the bail and other factors.

It is not that uncommon to have errors in the older pieces of cast iron be it spelling or missing letters.  I've seen more than one over the years.  A photo would help tell you better.
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
