About what should a Martin #7 cost?
« on: December 22, 2013, 04:34:49 PM »
I came across one today that has a little surface rust (no pitting), a little gas pitting on bottom, and of course needs stripped. Didn't appear to have cracks or warp.

Price was $22.50. I get a little nervous paying more than $10 most of the time, but like the size, and it's a name I don't see very often.

Shane, do you want it for a user only?

Shane, if you are talking about a skillet, I would pay 20-30 for one in great shape.  One that is pitted, I wouldn't give more than 5-10 dollars for to use.

The #7s don't show up as often as the 3, 5 and 8 on ebay.  Crazy high prices lately too and not all of the hamburger logos are in that great a shape.  Sounds like the pitting you indicated will be right in the same area as the logo so more a user than a hanger.  A little high priced strictly as a user unless you're planning to pick up other Martins along the way.  I've got a 3, 7, 8 and 12 and just gifted a #5. If the logo is in good shape they look nice hanging.
