Anyone know about Victor pans? Also, lye bath ques
« on: December 30, 2013, 06:32:21 PM »
Found what I believe is a #7. Says some other stuff, including Griswold on the bottom. Price is $30 - 20%, so, $24. Left it, because I picked up a #8 Ozark Cresent.

I've been using oven cleaner to strip my pans, but am thinking about a lye bath. Ace has Rooto in small cans for $3.50. Not sure the weight, but how much water would make as good or better cleaner than the spray can stuff?

1 lb 100% sodium hydroxide (lye) to 5 gallons of water.  Reusable endlessly... well almost.

Where to buy:

That was a good price on the Victor, is condition was good.

Pan was pretty much crusted up on the outside, but I forgot my straight edge to check the cook surface. The pans look is what caught my eye. Differant. Oh, I also stumbled across a Long Life #7, but it looks nasty. Almost looks rusty, but I think it is just gunk. Don't know much about that one either.
