Identify this skillet please...
« on: January 19, 2014, 09:35:26 AM »
Came across this skillet.  They said it's been in the family for a long time and it's 15".  I was told no other markings or brand.  Can anyone identify a brand and fair price to pay?

[size=12]BSR?   [smiley=undecided.gif]

Need more pictures...  especially of the bottom...  including handle...

Looks like a nice user if not warped or bowed...

Looks BS&R, is there a hole in that assist tab? As far as price not sure.

That's the only picture I have.  If I zoom in it appears there might be a hole in the tab.  It's listed for $30.

I'd check it over very closely, as these big ole monsters did get dropped occasionally, and might have a crack. I will usually go out into the bright sunlight and look all the way around, inside and outside of the side wall. Paying particular attention to around the handle and the area directly a cross from the handle. Then I look over the cooking surface, both sides. Now a older user can have some funky textures caked on it, so remember that cracks will be on both sides, not just on the inside or just on the outside, it will be cracked on both. If I think I see a possible crack, on just one side, I'll scrap that area with the trusty pocket knife and see what is under that crud. 30 dollars is a good price for a 14, IMO.
