Possible Griswold find, and disappointment.

First, I found what I think is part of a Griswold Combo or 4 in 1 cooker. Small logo, don't remember seeing an Erie mark, and don't know if it were the top or bottom. Bad thing is that it wobbles, but it shows very little warp on the cooking surface. It was $18, but I walked away because of the warp, and the fact it wasn't complete. Did I pass up a good find? Griswold is not common around here, and if found, is usually in the $50 for a #8 skillet.
Also, the Martin #8 that I remember seeing when I bought my Crescent #8 was gone. The whole reason for the trip was that I was going back for it.

There is a few different ones made.  A #80 or #90   Black iron or nickel plated.  Need more info or a picture.

Don't have pics, but it was black iron. I didn't buy, but am tempted seeing as it is a Griswold. The reason I think it is part of a set is because the rim looks to be fitted to another half, and there is a "pivot" point on the opposite of the handle.

Did it have "4 in 1" written inside the cross "logo?" If so, it is a Lodge piece and not Griswold. As far as top or bottom, the top should resemble a regular skillet, and the bottom is much deeper, like a chicken cooker.

The acknowledgement that it "wobbles" should be all you need to know, to keep on walking.

A warped or wobbly piece,,, is not worth any $$ to me.

I totally agree with Cheryl here, unless its a rare piece, or unusual, there is a difference, if its cracked or wobbles or is excessively pitted, any of that kind of stuff, then save your money for another day. Just like starting out collecting cast iron, when I first started I bought a lot, everytime I went out I came home with some pieces. I wish I had been more selective and saved my money and bought better pieces early on.

 I've probably mentioned it before, but I just can't find a piece that is not warped in one way or the other. I've got a new Lodge 12" that was bought at Kroger that is slightly convex, another #8 Lodge that is the same, and an unmarked Wagner #6 that spins, but showed no sign of use at all until I got it. I think some pieces are made that way. I think my flatest piece is an unmarked Lodge that I bought for $3.50. Anyway, I'm fairly new to this, so it can be hard to find good stuff.
