Blacklock Kettle
« on: May 25, 2015, 02:54:01 PM »
Here is a nice piece I piked up on a recent trip in Virginia.  This is the way I found it.  The bottom has the initial J.W.H. though I couldn't get a good photo of the bottom.  The bottom has some surface rust obscuring the details.

That is very nice, if you ever get a pic of the bottom you gotta add it.  :)

Here you go Dwayne.  I should have done this to begin with but I hit the bottom with a little BKF and a stainless scrubber. Obviously not as clean as I need to get it but it shows the detail pretty good now.

That's a great piece. The last one I saw was rusted through on the bottom. Take care of that one.

Hello Richie. WOW. That sure is a nice piece. It looks to be in very good condition too. That should clean up beautifully.  Thank you very much for posting that. As a rule I stay away from teakettles but I would have jumped all over that. Congratulations Richie. :)

Fabulous find!  You could look forever and never find one half as nice.  That really is a jewel.

And Perry, I'm not crazy about teakettles either, but I would have arm-wrestled you for that one. ;)
