Here's another for the Canadian iron lovers...
« on: June 04, 2015, 12:22:23 AM »
Chown and Cunningham, wipe clean after the James Smart takeover in 1893. Smart wiped the C&C, the diamond, and the "favorite" oddly enough but left the ware. The original diamond G is on the handle but looks to be hastily done. It was a bit of a disappointment when it came out of the lye bath. Still nice to have a piece with the original Diamond G.

Either way, been working on dating Canadian iron, and I have James Smart pretty much circa dated now. Still a couple of anomalies but...

I like that skillet.  Never seen one like it before.
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Robert, it's always nice to see the Canadian iron.

Perry, that's not my foot either!

After seeing those pink toes, I was sure to keep my shoes on :)

Don't think i'll use this skillet, get it seasoned and hang it on the wall.

Ed, you may have just made my night... Been looking at the pics of dutch ovens, bail attachments didn't look right in the drawings. They aren't drawn like usual ear style.

Attached is the Chown scotch bowl.
