Looking for a Stainlees Steel Tank
« on: June 18, 2015, 01:24:50 PM »
Hello all,
Cheryl over on the Facebook page suggested I ask on here if anyone has a Stainless Steel Barrel/Tank/Drum/container I can use for an E-Tank setup.

Thanks
Mike

Watch for school auctions. I saw one this weekend. It sold for ten dollars/ It was a oval tank that circulated water for injured sports players. It was about forty gallons

Mike,

I would recommend that you get a polyethylene drum and use scrap stainless steel sheet metal for the anode.  You should be able to find the drum locally from a place that reconditions them for reuse.  Stainless steel is NOT immune to corrosion, especially at the welds.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the suggestion, but I already have two that I have put together just as you describe , I wanted to check out the drum idea as just a different/easier way to do it.

Thanks
Mike

My E tank is a stainless beer keg. Your amperage will be very high. You will need an auxiliary electrode to do the inside of things like dutch ovens.
