3 Legged Pot Unknown
« on: July 14, 2015, 07:14:04 AM »
Here's one that will take some work to bring back to life. Not sure who made it. Bottom gate, no lift assist ring, ears instead of tabs to hold the bail, sharp bail stop, spiked drips. Guess we'll never really know, but I like it.

Frank, compare your kettle to one I just restored.

Top looks the same to me. So does the bottom, except for my "8L". Mine were found together too. Do you think it's another mismatch, as you believe yours was?

Your lid looks like a hammered Lodge. Those bail stops on the kettle don't look Lodge. Good chance it's a marriage. I hope it cleans up well. I'd like to see that lid.

I'll put out a pic when I'm done. It's amazing what I miss when I get wrapped up in the details. I never noticed that the lid was hammered and the pot isn't. Perhaps the lid came off a dutch oven and happened to fit the pot. Thanks for pointing that out!
