WAGS Convention 2014
« on: January 10, 2014, 10:03:55 PM »
For all our Forum visitors and WAGS members who haven't seen this announcement on the Members' only side, we are pleased to announce the 2014 WAGS Convention will be in St. Louis, September 25-27.

You do have to be a WAGS member to attend and someone familiar with the bylaws will hopefully let us know how long you have to be a member to be eligible for voting in the business meeting.  As one of the local host members, I'm looking forward to seeing/meeting many of you this fall.

From the By Laws:

ARTICLE VI, Section 6.1. Upon application for membership and payment of dues, a persons application will be reviewed by the Membership Committee. Upon approval of the committee, such person shall become a member. Following six months of membership, a member will be eligible to vote in elections of officers and vote on each matter submitted to a vote at any annual or special meeting of the members of the Society.

Yes absolutely members may vote via absentee ballot for elections.  Once the Elections Committee has received nominations for open positions, ballots will be printed and may be requested by those not attending the convention.  Please note the request must be made in plenty of time to allow for mailing, return mailing, etc.

This is all spelled out in the by laws.  If any member needs a copy, I would be glad to send you one.

Just a reminder the deadline for convention registration is approaching, but there is still time.  The deadline for registration is August 22nd.  You must be registered and a WAGS member to attend.  The registration form is posted in the convention thread located in our member's area of the Forum.
