  • WAGS: the heartbeat of cast iron collecting
Hello from Custer, SD
« on: November 16, 2021, 10:08:34 PM »
Hello. Thanks for allowing me into the group. I thought I used to be a member, but I must have just been a creeper who had never actually joined the group.  Anyways, I’m here now and looking forward to seeing what I can learn.

I’m mostly just a cast iron user, not an actual collector of any one particular brand. Since I can only use so many pieces myself, I like to buy nice users, clean them up, and give them to others and spread the love of using cast iron.

I like to learn about the different brands and learn how to identify the unmarked ones. It makes me happy to pick up a skillet at an antique store, turn it over, and know a little about what I’m looking at. I’d like to learn what I can about a skillet I bought today. Apparently, it’s called an “initial skillet.” Mine has the initials SW. So, I’m off to see what info I can find.  :cheesy:

Welcome
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
