I reached out to John Wright to see if they could tell me when this design was made, in the mean time anyone have any idea as it is not shown on their website

That's really neat Valerie, I've never seen anything quite like it.  Nice find!

BTW I know firsthand the toll radiation treatments can take on you.  Hang in there!!

Thanks Sandy...Today was my last treatment, Diagnosed last Sept, Surgery in October, Chemo  December-April, Radiation from April to today.
I have neuropathy in my hands and feet from the chemo, feels like they are in a bucket of ice water...numbing deep pain.
I did check ebay there are a few similar active and sold like this one, It is not like the ones currently being offered on the John Wright website, hopefully they will respond with a date this was available...talk about heavy...what a brute

Given the logo on the stand and the fact they also sold a stove humidifier and trivet in the same motif during this time frame, I would estimate this stand to be 1994-1996.

I notice it says Cast In USA
I am wondering if the iron is sourced outside the US

As far as I know, both John Wright and Lodge use recycled iron. In the 1990's, John Wright ads for their muffin pans stated, "made from recycled iron." So in a way, they may have some imported iron in them. I have seen the kind of iron that people sell to scrap yards. Yeah, there is a lot of Asian made cookware in it. But once this type of iron is melted in an induction furnace, all that slag is removed. Iron is iron after that.
