What have you cleaned lately?
« on: November 22, 2022, 07:37:44 PM »
It’s been a really long time since anyone has posted here.
I’ve been meaning to clean out my electrolysis tank for this entire year, and I finally got that off my checklist. Here it is with a nice clean solution in it. The two pieces are just starting to fizz. One is a toy-size Harvest Pan (how many times have you seen any toy-sized baking pan?) and the other is a Lodge hammered size 0 skillet. It only took an hour in the newly cleaned tank, and any trace of rust was successfully reduced.
Let’s see what you have cleaned lately.

Nice, can you show pics of that harvest pan.  Never seen one that small.

Here is the pan in comparison to a John Wright Harvest Pan. Some of the molds on the toy are in a different orientation. It's a bit of a rough casting and no information available as far as who made it. But still an interesting piece.

That is a really cute little pan! The last thing that I cleaned and seasoned was a number 14 Lodge pan. During the summer I didn't do much, but earlier in the year I did like 10 different waffle irons. I was on a waffle iron kick and I was having fun. Now that winter's upon us, I'll maybe start looking into more iron to clean up and season, and then I'll use it! Are you going to use this little guy and make some stuff?

This little pan is a conversation piece. That's it. It has become part of a John Wright-related collection of hollow ware and documents I am gathering for what will hopefully be presented some day in some manner. Here are a couple more photos of things I have cleaned lately:One is a Wilton foot Ashtray I use as a spoon rest, and the other is a John Wright plain iron Fruit on Top Bundt Pan.
