Pan with Lid
« on: December 29, 2022, 05:28:10 PM »
Only reason I paused this pan has a lid, #8 deep sides. I checked  the lid on a #8 Wagner and it fit like a glove, does not fit a lodge. I thought the lid was supposed to have little spikes but no they are dimples, indentions. They are asking $52.

That's an older BSR lid. They had the dimples.

Seems like I read somewhere that lids are worth as much or more than the pans because they are getting hard to find so I will snag this if the price is reasonable.

Tommy, the chicken fryer is the 'suspicious' item here........

That grooved handle (underside) would make it NOT BSR....

I guess that would make the lid suspicious as well? I'm just thinking that lid would be real handy if it is legit BSR, I could find a BSR pot somewhere with no lid.

You might want to try checking the dimensions (width and depth) against the catalog dimensions of a chicken fryer....

Some one put me out of my misery and bought this piece, I wanted the lid, I really really wanted the lid but I did not want to get robbed for it. I need to find some better places to shop for cast iron.
Thank you for the comments and encouraging me not to get stupid.
