  • WAGS: the heartbeat of cast iron collecting
Hello WAGS
« on: June 23, 2023, 11:35:04 PM »
Paul White here from Arkansas. I only have 2 cast iron pieces, both Wagner..... a dutch oven that I got from my mom, who got it from her mom, and an 8" skillet that I just got last weekend. I cleaned both by following instructions shown by Cowboy Kent Rollins... they are both beautiful pieces again! I have used the dutch oven for 3 or 4 roast/taters/carrots/onions, and just used the skillet for the first time yesterday to fry some eggs and grill a couple of sandwiches. Over the upcoming July 4th weekend, I will be getting another 8" skillet, a 9" or 10" skillet, and a small round griddle..... not sure yet of the manufacturer of those.... we'll see

Anyway..... I look forward to this forum!

Welcome to the Forum, Paul.  You're right... cast iron is fantastic to use and it has really stood the test of time!  Thanks for posting the pictures.  Your iron is beautiful!

There's lots of great info you can access as you look around the Forum, BUT there's even more on the members-only side.  Membership is money well spent for anyone enthusiastic about CI cookware.

Welcome Paul, it appears you are well along on the road to hell and damnation which is cast iron hoarding er collecting.  My meals are driven by what can be cooked in cast iron.
