Identifying a National skillet

National skillets were made between 1890 and 1940 (I think). Different markings throughout this time.

Mine  has the outside heatring with the National logo in an arch at the 12 o'clock. A #8 at the 6 o'clock with a small A to the right of that, closer to 5 o'clock.

It's hanging in the e-tank now so I have no pics to share.

I'm just wondering about narrowing down the timeline and I'm not finding much here to help me with that.

National skillets were made by Wagner. Almost everything went to catalog numbers in 1924.  So your skillet probably predates that. Probably

Craig, I suspect that the National 'line' ended sometime in the 1930's.

The 1941 Catalog  in our .pdf section  has no references to National, and I have a 1930's catalog (#58) which does not contain any 'National' items.(still trying to date this one more specifically, it appears to be mid to late 1930's).

I Suspect that The National line may have ceased sometime in the early to mid 30's, but that is an educated guess.

If the copyrights are ever lifted from the 'trade journals', we will likely know more specifically.

 While so much of this seems straight forward, so much is vague, at best. It's no wonder I get confused...
