Lead In China Glaze???

I don't think I have posted on this subject here before so here goes. My  Grandparents were married in 1917 and bought a set of monogrammed china while on their honeymoon in Dallas. My daughter ended up with it. She questions if there could be lead in the glaze finish. Anyone here ever deal with old china? I know you can test cast iron but what about china? Any help appreciated.

I have all of the family China myself.  Three Generations worth....

Cheryl, I'm guessing you collect family china like you collect cast iron?

Kinda Sorta  .... I have cleaned out 4 houses in the past 20 years... so I have a LOT of ANT-I- QUES..............

From 'CHINA' to SILVERWARE (solid, not plated)  to COPPER! and Watches and Jewelry... and........... 

Oh and COINS!!!!  and Glass WARE (Depression Glass)... and now my head hurts just thinking about my ATTIC !!!

Cheryl, we need more people like you, preserving the past for future generations.  While we tend to think of the younger generation as having no interest in antiques, there will always be some who will have that interest, even if only for their own family history.  We need to encourage those individuals.

Folks always said I was an "old soul in a young body" when it came to any of my interest. When I was a kid in the 60's and everyone was listening to the Beatles, I listened to 30-40 year old country & western, big band and jazz. I have always felt that it was something born into me. Genealogy is another subject that really spurs
my interest. I catch myself wishing I would have asked more questions of folks long gone decades ago.
