Any ideas re plated Griswold 14 with lid?
« on: November 14, 2024, 12:05:51 PM »
This pan was obtained at an estate sale in Kansas in the early 70s. The owner told me it was only used over open fires, hence some of the discoloration.   I've never seen a plated piece of this size. Is it rare?  Was it a gimmick? All replies much appreciated.

Steve, looks like the real deal to me!

Appears to be a Duo-Chro/Chrome Griswold Skillet and Cover! circa 30's/40's....

When it comes to plated items, condition is important when assessing values, which requires good pics that clearly show true condition.

This set could use a bit of cleaning in order to tell if all the plating is intact on both pieces (I think I see a bit of rust that 'may' have broken thru)....

The CI market has been a bit crazy the past few years....

$1000 to ? + if condition warrants......

Amazing find, Steve.  I have never seen a plated piece larger than a #12.  Congratulations on a true find.
