Griswold No. 40 Catalog Reprints 4 sale
« on: December 28, 2013, 02:36:22 PM »
For anyone interested I still have some of the above catalogs for sale. This catalog is from around 1908. Dave Smith had a General Catalog number 40 reprinted also. This one is completely different that Daves. None of the material is duplicated. Especially interesting, that some folks have pointed out, is that there is a flat ware section whereas before it was thought that Griswold did not sell flatware. Also there is a 'cast aluminum ware' section and also a 'sheet aluminum' section that illustrates pieces Griswold made that up until now, it was not known that Griswold made these pieces. If anyone is interested in purchasing one of these catalogs, they are a full 8 and one-half by 11 and are 28.00 each which includes shipping. I'll try to post a picture. This is the original from which the reprint was made.

Well worth the money for sure Perry. I have 2 of them. One for looking through, and one for looking at. ;D

This catalogue opened up a lot more options for collecting. Many things that people hadn't seen before. Thank you for having this one reprinted Perry. We need to keep these pieces alive.

Hello Chuck. Thank you for the support. I think these old catalogs are great too. Everytime I pick one up and start going through it I learn something new. Out of the Griswold reprints out there, I like the 1895/96 one the best.

That 1895 / 96 catalog is great. I have 2 copies as well. There are a lot of pieces that were previously unseen until you  found and reprinted that one as well. Do you still have copies of that one available Perry? Outstanding reprint work as well Perry

Sorry, to hijack your post.  Have you got any notion about a trip in this direction this year?  If so, we'll try to get Harry to bring his suitcase and then we all can sit on the front porch and eat potted meat, crackers and Amish jelly. Memorial Day is good to, its got nearly as large as Labor Day, you have an open invitation for either or both.  Rick

Thank you for asking Cheryl. I still have the catalogs available if anybody wants them. I have been fortunate to get my back, after five years. But I would do it again. SO, this thread, you can do whatever you want to do with it. If you want to delete it, thats fine.
