From Tom P. :
Note that the 7-GC also is for/fits the 7 Dutch Oven, have included a picture of it even though it is not a Lady Bess, because of the common glass lid.

James, these are the same glass lids shown in the 1966 and 1987 catalogs being used on iron Dutch Ovens/ Chicken Fryers.  Finding the correct Anchor Hocking glass lid with those numbers on the rim keeps me checking the lid bin at all the thrift stores, glass being glass not too many have survived.

Can  I ask what the diameter of the heat pads are on those?  Is that thick heat pad the same diameter as the number marked? For example the 6-W is it 6" ?

A better way to put it might be, on those two 8W's are their bottom heat (base) pad the same size when compared?

Don't know Dwayne.

The Lady Bess Brochure just gives the size in inches, and given ASW/BSR's history of measurements, I would think the size is Top Diameter to allow match up of the glass lids.  Just thinking out loud.......

Sure could be, was just wondering on the same number coming up. That it being for the glass lids would sure make sense.

question, what's the best way to restore LadyBess line of CI? I have one in my "to do" stack and have been putting it on the back burner due to the wooden handle.

Paul, if I am not mistaken, the eyebolt thru the wood can be removed to separate the handle from the cast iron item.
(Should be thread eye bolt) ... Let's see if Tom or Dwayne stop by to confirm....
