cleaning enamel with lye?
« on: February 01, 2014, 11:54:24 AM »
Someone aboviously didn't care if this Le Creuset was enameled lol

wondering if  a few short time dunks in  lye will loosen it up enough to clean or harm the finish

 thanks
Mike

Lye can/will etch porcelain.

Dawn Power Dissolver may work a bit, but I have seen the DPD cause cloudiness on porcelain also...
