John wright Shell Pan
« on: February 02, 2014, 10:51:16 PM »
I picked up one of these. It has spots of rust in the bottom of the cups, and also various places on the bottom of the pan itself. It was gray in color, I assumed it was painted. A day in the lye tank didn't touch it. Was this some kind of teflon coating. I think there is a 1986 date on it. Is there any way to get to bare iron?

Gary, I put mine through the lye bath to remove any built up oils.
The Teddy's, Kittens, and Harvest pans I derusted in the Vinegar bath, if my memory is serving me correctly..... it's been a while.

My Lion and Lamb pan went into Evapo after the LB for rust removal.
