Dominic, you may need to post a few pics of the orifice on your stove, as there are different ones.

Looking at the Griswold catalogs, the 603 Series of stoves were only fitted to burn Natural Gas, so you will need a regulator... but I am not a stove expert, for sure....

A wealth of information, here ... Thanks!
I have what appears to be an 800 series Griswold 2-burner stove in really good shape, all plumbed in and mounted in the back of a vintage 1947 Ken-Skill teardrop camping trailer ... the problem I am having is that the right burner is burning just fine with short yellow-tipped blue flame, reasonably adjustable, and the left burner has BIG yellow flames that the air adjust has little-to-no affect on. Since the orifices on the burner and all the plumbing are clean, I'm assuming that the valve itself needs to be cleaned and/or rebuilt ... if I'm missing something, please let me know before I tear into this thing, or worse, blow the trailer up ... :o ...!

I'm wondering if powdercoating would hold up better than paint.
Has anyone tried it?
