What is your cleaning ritual/ method?
« on: February 06, 2020, 10:44:50 PM »
I’m sure each of us have pieces that get used on a daily basis. As my collection is growing rapidly, and I’ve yet to post any photos of it yet, I find I am using more and more everyday, that I am home and get to cook. Tonight for dinner I used 5 pieces of CI, and of course, they all worked out great, and cleaned right up.

As I was doing this I got to thinking, what is everyone else’s cleaning ritual?  When I am done cooking and the pan has cooled I use a brush to clean off the residue, if there are food particles I use a plastic scraper. When I’m done I’ll wipe it out with a paper towel, and into the oven at 200 degrees for 15 minutes. After said time I crank the temp to 350, pull the piece, wipe it down with crisco, wipe it off again, and back into the oven for 15 minutes and then, let it be; unless I need to use the oven for something else, which happens occasionally.

Is your method, roughly the same?  I enjoy hearing about others ways of doing things.
