OK  One more question about a pot or kettle
« on: December 17, 2006, 08:36:36 PM »
I hate to keep on asking all these questions but I guess it is the only way I am going to learn. I also bought this piece at a auction and it wasnt really something I was looking for but it went for next to nothing $2.00 so I bought it and I dont even know what to call it exactly and the only marking on the piece is a raised number 2 and this piece measures around 7 1/2 inches across  and  5 inchs high. The top side of the handle is flat while the bottom  side of the handle is slightly rounded like a normal skillet. I dont know if that has any significance but I thougt it was strange. I would apperciate anything you can tell me about the piece even what I should call it. Thanks    SAM

A c.1930s Lodge catalog shows "Lipped Water Kettles" that match your piece in sizes 1, 2, and 3  (1-1/4, 2 and 3 quart).  The No.2 size weighs 4-1/2 lbs. and that's likely what you have.

Sam,  is it for sale?   I am trying to collect older Lodge pieces.   I think it is Lodge too.

Could you post that old Lodge catalog on the member's side? Would love to see it.

I'd be happy to Dwayne but first have to get around to learning how to use my scanner.  It's a Xerox copy of a copy.

No, I have a set of smooth bottom sauce pans ( 1 thru 3) with raised numbers on the handle. Nice little set.
