Pitted #10 Small Logo
« on: October 25, 2009, 09:01:32 PM »
Listed as a #16
From the looks of the bottom, some parts do not touch the stove, so I suspect it may be warped as well. :-/

WOW!  Never should have gotten a bid since it opened at $50... not worth even half of that IMO.

I had to take a picture of this one. When the link is gone, nobody will believe this thread.

Well whats the deal on this piece? It looks awful big the way they got it in that chair. Is it really a number 16 Griswold smooth bottom? Probably not, I can see the 10, but if it really is a size 16, heck yes its worth the selling price, and a whole lot more. How comes it looks so big in the chair. So which one is it?  :-/

Its either a 10 that went awful high, or a number 16 that went awful cheap.  :-/

716H in description.  RB (pg. 195) lists Griswold pattern number 716 as No. 10 skillet.  Might be a small chair.  ;)

Nope.   There is one known to exist.   If you find one,  I bet it would bring double that.

Will, who owns it? Anyone even seen a photo of a Griswold #10 grooved handle skillet?

I really don't know.  Just roomers I have heard.   There was photos,  but I have never seen it.   There was talks of it being a stripped red and cream skillet,  as most of them are grooved handle skillets.   I have never seen a  R/C #10 yet,  that I remember.

I think there was one pictured in Dave Smith's "Kettles and Cookware" newsletter.
Just something I read somewhere. I don't have any of the newsletters.

That grooved handle small logo number 10 griswold. There was a man on here once, or maybe it was a woman, it was one of the two, but they said they talked to this man, and he had talked to his brother-in-law, and that the brother-in-law knew a man, that knew another man, that said he met a man at a flea market once, who said he seen a picture of one once, but I didn't catch his name.

I think I had the No.10 grooved handle sm. tm skillet in my collection years ago.  I don't remember NOT having a full collection of each of the small TM skillet variations.  Could be wrong however.  The blue book is more recently updated than the red book and that's why the groove 10 is listed there.  I always had it listed in my skillet chart in Cast Iron Cookware News and that's another reason that I do believe that I actually did have one.  A photo of the elusive pan is in Dave Smith's Kettles 'N Cookware newsletter May-June 2001 vol.10 no. 3.  Photo sent in by Jerome Cooper who I don't know.

From this thread:
http://www.griswoldandwagner.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1150321370

The highlight above is to assist anyone who has a collection of Dave's newsletter in finding this photo.

Apparently, Steve sold his set of grooved handled small logo pans early on, before he knew how rare the #10 was.
