Griswold Cast Iron Tite- Top Dutch Oven # 310 Chuck Wagon Style

Now, WAGS members, here on our Forum, knew that this was not a true Griswold item (Wagner made), and is Not a #310, and therefore the original box is for a different, earlier Wagner produced Dutch oven (or CO).
A warning was posted on the Members Side of the Forum.....

Unfortunately, someone overpaid by quite a whopping amount. :o

Thank you Cheryl. You did a very nice job of laying that all out. You're a good woman.  ;) :)

I sure wish I knew who it was that took a beating on this piece.  :-/

I emailed the seller and asked why it wasn't marked as Griswold. I got no response.

UNLESS you spelled out the difference and dummied it down you probably would not get one penny more, even though it is worth a lot more. Remember folks: the REAL GRISWOLD one of these has a pattern number of 180 on it. And then Wagner took the Griswold name off and took off the Erie, Pa, and changed the pattern number to 310. And the one here in this auction is even after that. DON'T BE DUPED.  ;)

If you know your stuff though, the box is marked "Griswold Manufacturing CO, SIDNEY OHIO"!!!

So just by that, you should know it is actually a Wagner made item.  So I do think the box is original, just very tricky!  Very easy to miss that detail.
