Greg, I don't know if I was the first person to make the link that it wasn't our Griswold, but I might have been the first one whose observations made it into print based on the flack some folks raised. Joe had a run an article about our conversation in the Panhandler and there were some folks who took offense via e-mail. A while after the article printed there was an anniversary medal on e-bay with the exact markings of the egg separator and it was from Griswold's in Warren Ohio. Turns out they were a dry goods store and supposedly handed these out as tokens on their anniversary. If memory serves right this was followed up by a GCICA member who verified the store as she had worked there. The dates didn't make any sense to me but one person insisted it was the anniversary of Griswold Mfg. Co.'s foray into aluminum cookware. They also stated they knew Warren Ohio well and there had never been a Griswold's store there. I since have seen at least a dozen references to it on other E-Bay items like catalogs, etc.. Still doesn't make sense to me and I don't think there is any way they are Erie made pieces.
