Yeah, Sad to say but it's a reproduction piece. As reproductions go this isn't a badly cast piece but they sure could have used spell check.

Marilyn,
The misspelling of FRY alone would not say that your pan is a repro.  I have only seen photos of the suspected reproduction so can't say for sure if it really is a repro or if all of the misspelled pans are repros.  Could be, though.  Real 2103 skillets are extremely fine castingsa with a very uniform grain pattern and the only grinding evident should be along the top edge of the skillet where the gate was ground smooth.  That grinding is smooth and well done so even it is not very noticable.

I will say that every ERY pan that I've seen is a REPRO, bar none!!  No real ones.  I don't know why Steve is saying what he said.

:( Thanks everyone. I knew it but just didn't want to believe it. I knew the seller and it needed a lye bath. The seller did not know it because I bought it before he cleaned it. Next time I'll take a more careful look.
:'( Thanks again,
     Marilyn   :)

This is why Greg:
"I have only seen photos of the suspected reproduction so can't say for sure if it really is a repro or if all of the misspelled pans are repros."

I am just throwing out what I thought could have been a posibility.

I also seem to remember seeing another pan misspelled ERY but could be mistaken.  It may have been an 786 sq. skillet.

There is a variation of the small square egg skillet, the # 129 I think, with the letter E missing in the word SQUARE and it is an authentic piece.

Harry..    I have one of those without the 'E'.   I agree, I do think it is authentic.  If it isn't, I have only lost $7.00
