Wagner #10 deep skillet, correct lid?
« on: September 10, 2004, 01:01:03 AM »
Just received a Wagner #10 deep skillet that was purchased off of e-bay.  I'm thinking it will look great sandwiched between my Wagner #9 deep skillets (2 of them) with their "Wagner Drip-Drop No 9 Skillet-Roaster" lids.  The #10 didn't come with a lid like the two #9's did, and I'm wondering if anyone might know what model number might be the correct lid.  The bottom of the skillet simply says "WagnerWare Sidney 10A" and the upper lip is 12" across, or 13" from spout to spout.  Any ideas about where to find the right lid, or if it even should have one?

Thanks,

Alan

If there was a cover for your 10A skillet it would probably be marked SKILLET ROASTER.  But I think your pan may be old enough to be before skillet covers were being made by Wagner.  The 1924 Wagner catalog does not show skillet covers at all.  The No.10 extra deep skillet is catalog No. 1090 so your skillet is earlier without the catalog number.  I'd sure say "no cover" made but the later SKILLET ROASTER covers might fit perfectly.

Thanks Steve!

Since it was originally without a lid, I'll keep it that way.
