Ever seen this??
« on: January 26, 2009, 11:38:28 PM »
Found this one floating around on the net. Was wondering if there was any value to it, or just another Favorite. Thanks

Well, it's an advertising skillet by Favorite and they aren't that common. Griswold made a # 2 skillet for Rau Bros which is pretty pricey. The Favorite was a topic of discussion as to it's authenticity on a thread here a few years back. I think we ended up thinking it was authentic. They show up every now and then but they aren't common. As to price, I really have no idea what these have brought in the past. Maybe someone will come along with an idea on price. I wouldn't mind picking one up but the price I would pay wouldn't be very high.

Ed and Harry, I don't know if its true or not, but, I heard that Perry Rapier bought the one pictured here, cause he liked Favorite and you don't see many of these at all.  ::)

I heard that too. I thought it may have been another one of those Perry guy's BS stories like the Columbian Burglar alarm, or Washington skillet cover. ::)  ;)

CPR, I don't know that I believe that. Who told you Perry bought it? I do remember the stir the first one of these to show caused since the writing was so different from the Griswold RAU skillet. I've seen a half dozen or so and they are all identical. They are the real deal, except for maybe the one Perry is alleged to have bought.
