I wasn't lucky on another piece at this same auction. I was after a Griswold #4 small logo grooved handle. I figured it's an easy set to complete, and I only need a couple more of them. Well it went up, I let all the early bidders jump in, and then drop out. Then it was just me and this woman. When we got to $50 I was gonna drop out but I figured I'd stay in a couple more times. When it got to $75 I though, If she wants it that bad she's gonna pay for it, so I stayed in until I hit $105. She went $110, so I shook my head, and said, It's all yours. I guess you call that " >:(Anger bidding" >:(. After I thought about it, I said to myself, Are you nuts? What if she didn't go $110? Better her than me I guess. I know the 4's a getting a little harder to find, but not that one. I can get one on Ebay for $20.
And you are all correct. It is an iron mountain skillet #3. After the paint came off, you could see the pitted bottom. Good thing I didn't pay too much for it.
