Diamond Erie Griswold ?
« on: February 19, 2009, 12:13:47 AM »
On page 51 of the BB, upper right. Was this #8 griddle ever made with just the "ERIE", and the P/N.  and in a size #9. I'm asking because I just picked one up, and it has the "ERIE" ghost on the top where the P/N is in the pic, and the P/N 739 ghost just below the Diamond Erie logo. The other thing that is different is the size marking is No 9, not just 9. I haven't found the ERIE version in the Books either. Any info would be great.

I don't have your answer Chuck but I like the diamond logo.

Other than on one of the 962 aebleskiver pans, did the diamond logo appear on anything other than the griddles?

Well I'll take a shot at this also Chuck. My thoughts are that this griddle was originally made using early ERIE griddle pattern, with P/N and the No.9. They then took the ERIE pattern and modified it for the Diamond T/M and left the original No.9..

I like the diamond logos also Tom. I know the ghosting doesn't do much to the value either way. I was just curious because I didn't see this type of # marking in the book. I guess it's just another one of those veriation that didn't make it to print.

Page 50 BB shows #6 ERIE griddle just like your ghosting. Has ERIE, center P/N and big ole No.6.  They made 6,7,8,9...

Theres a diamond on a toy skillet. It's the small part of the diamond with ERIE inside it.
