The number does appear to be 4572 .  I lightened it up some on the contrast.

FYI, the handles are probably maple. See page 6 of the Wagner Ware Cat # 55.

WOW :o, way to go Sam. Those reprints are really nice, as they contain an absolute ton of information. IF, one is not too lazy to look at them.  :-[

Wow - nice work. Congrats on steeling those maganalites Chuck! Dang, just ordered the Griswold catalogs, now looks like I'm gonna need to buy some Wagner cats. Cool stuff. Be careful Chuck, if you start collecting aluminum your going to need another shed  ;D
