My Axford Skillet
« on: October 12, 2009, 10:49:58 AM »
I have had an Axford lid to make a double skillet for an Axford skillet. The top fit is very good and tight. Its just the handles are not aligned. Non of my other double skillets have this preblem. Could it be maybe a skillet with the PAT. on the handle would fit better? The handles are "OFF" more then the picture shows.

thanks

Jesse,
There is a picture of Scott Saunders' set on the Axford page of the foundry list. His is marked Pat Pending, and looks just like yours otherwise. It has that same handle shape. He does not show them stacked.
Does yours say "Pat Pending", or "Pat 1931"?

Jesse,
We don't have one like that on the Foundry list. If you could send me some larger pics by email, I would like to add it. :)

Also I have an unmarked Axford broiler with the "Pat. Pending" mark on the handle. You know the one I mean. I have a lid just like yours coming soon from Ebay, so I will let you know how mine fits.

Thanks again for those pics Jesse,

My lid arrived, and it does not fit my broiler at all. I guess I will need to look for an "Axford" marked one. My one notched one is marked "Pat Pend" , but it's more the size of a #8 and the lid is more the size of a #9. :'(

well that saves me some money then. I was going to try another skillet....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190341254272&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I bought off this guy and hes a nice seller. Just woun't even come down a dime on this one and I'm not paying that much for a warped pan.
My pan measures 10 5/8" Inside and hes saying this one is 11 1/8"...This one might fit your lid.

Am I correct then that there is 3 different skillets..Axford,Pat193,Pat Pend

And your notched one would say Lodge. This sale and mine have no notch.

Jesse,
Mine has the raised "Pat Pend" on the handle, and a small raised letter on the bottom. Appears to be Lodge, but not marked Lodge. One notch.

I think that any of the ones marked Axford would work for this lid.
