Martin Quiz??
« on: January 23, 2010, 11:22:37 AM »
Why is the handle on the Martin deep skillet in the first pic lower than the skillet rim, and the handle on the Martin deep skillet in the second pic flush with the rim???   Yes they are both Martin skillets and yes I do know the answer as I'm sure others do too....  Just picking brains!!!!

Well Ed. My guess is I don't know. But it looks like the obvious answer is because the piece, whatever it is, that goes into or onto the skillet, goes down below the room, and so the handle is lower to accomodate whatever it is that sticks down. BOY, if that ain't a lousy guess.  :o ;D

Is the first skillet perhaps part of a combo cooker?  Just a guess.

Correct, it is to accept the Safety skillet as a cover to make the double skillet shown in the RB..  Only the RB does not tell us that there are two variations of deep skillet.  I always wonderd how the safety skillet worked as double skillet cover and now I know. This is the first Martin deep skillet I have seen to accept the Safety skillet... Heres a pic of Safety skillet..
