Camp Oven Cooking Table

I was wondering how practical would it be to try and make your own table.  I know Lodge would like to see my money, but I'm just not willing to give that much right now.

Anybody made their own table?

I haven't made one, but other people have and they look great from what I've seen.  I saw one made of aluminum and it looked sharp and light weight.
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Yes, I made mine.  I didn't like the Lodge or Camp Cheff ones.  Wanted a heaver gauge metal that would last the rest of my life time.  Folding legs are nice if it is to go camping with you.  Don't forget a wind screen at least as high as the top of your ovens, higher if you stack them.
Mine is 48x23x3/32, with a 2in lip all around to keep the coals on and hang utinsels from, folding legs.

Tom Heck of a nice table. Very well built it looks like. Heavy enough to last and light enough to travel. Now you just need to make a shovel to scoop the ashes out of it.

I was thinking about making my own with a slideing trap door for removing the ashes. With a pot or bucket under it to catch the ashes.

Tom, nice DO table. How heavy is it?

I have an old walker that folds and a few pieces of  stainless steel , I want to play and see what I can come up with that's packable and somewhat light. All I need is large enough for a 13" DO (that's my largest) so it should do the trick. If it gets nice enough to mess with it outside.

Camp-cook has some interesting tables. I wish I'd never of looked, 2 of my favorite things. Camping and cast iron cooking.  [smiley=drool1.gif]

My camping DOs are a 13 , 10 and 8 plus an ultimate turkey DO.
