I think I have the brother to it...in a wooden handle skillet I got from an auction today.
Rick, can you show the top side of that with the wooden handle. I am perty sure you have 1 of a 9 piece set consisting of 3 skillets, 2 sauce pans, 1 DO, 3 interchangable glass lids only made for a couple years in the 70s. That was their "Good Bess" line, but was not all that popular and discontinued.
Here we go again, Chris, there is a thread from Dwayne with a couple pictures of the Good Bess line that he got from one of his contacts at BSR.
Tom,
Somehow I missed this question earlier. The only threads I could find about the "Lady Bess" line were on the members side, and had no pictures. I do know the pictures you mean though. They are on the foundry list under BSR and show the box, a paper insert, all of the parts to the set, new with labels.
According to what Dwayne said in one of those threads, the 2 glass lids were made by Anchor Hocking. BSR cast the items to fit existing Anchor Hocking lids to keep the price down on the set.
