Old popover piece
« on: October 29, 2013, 04:31:10 PM »
I posted this soon before the forum went down and it looks like it disappeared in cyberspace.

I bought this 6 cup popover piece for $10 from a lady at one of my favorite antique stops. She didn't know anything about it but said it came from an estate that had many old items.

I can't find any markings other than what looks like an "H" or "II" on the underside of one end. Searched for some time and haven't found any that match the design. Anybody know what the maker might be?

No idea Bill, but clean and season it, because for $10, you got a great deal.

Does it have a small raised letter on the bottom?

I can't find any other markings on it. I was hoping that the design could be a clue. When I researched images there seemed to be a lot of different designs. Many looked similar but none were exactly the same.

The reason I asked is I had a similar one that turned out to be Lodge.   It had a small raised letter molder's mark under the handle like some other Lodge pieces have.

By chance was that on your sale table at the swap meet in Erie?
