Using Pam, is it OK to cook with?

 I know there is a post about seasoning with Pam, but I am not sure if it is OK in the long run.
 I gave a newly stripped and seasoned griddle a shot of Pam to bake some canned biscutes, then tried to use some Crisco a few days latter to add another coat of seasoning as I was doing some more pans.
The Crisco would just bead up, which I have never seen before.
Makes me wonder if Pam is not full of stuff that is not safe to our bodies in the long run, and maybe even cause a failed seasoning of our cast iron.

Shane, I've been using Kroger's brand of spray canola oil for the home and my camp ovens forever, no problems. If you don't mind the third ear I grew.......nope, seems safe to me.

It had lecithin too. I think there's something else in it now also.  I don't have a can around but I know I switched to the generic Kirkland brand at Costco because it is just Canola and Lecithin, like the old PAM.  Cheaper too.

Pam ingredients:
Canola Oil, Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, Lecithin from soy beans (non stick agent), Dimethyl Silicone (for anti-foaming),Rosemary Extract (Preservative), Propellant

I use generic Canola Spray from Aldi $1.29 a can

Ingredients:
Canola oil, Soy Lecithin, Dimethyl Silicone(for anti-foaming), Propellant

Greg, here in Tenn. we have Pam canola, olive and vegatable oils in spray. I've heard there's a grapeseed oil spray out there but have never seen it.

I have been using Pam for years.  Before I began using CI.  Only health problem it created for me was that I gained some weight.   ;D
