Assuming BS&R - but tell me I'm right. :)
« on: November 14, 2013, 03:56:20 PM »
Hi all,
I'm cleaning up a little pan for a friend - he kinda wanted to keep the crust because that was "good seasoning".  But he got it from his dad and dad pulled it out of the garage, so I suggested he should make his own crust.  And also the next time he drove down to see his dad he should help clean out the garage and bring me the rest of the cast iron...

In any case, I'm pretty sure it's BS&R, but the bottom of the handle is a tiny bit more of an elongated teardrop scoop.  So I wanted to ask if this was relevant at all.  Also, I'd would very much love a guess on what era it is. :)  I have no sense of that with BS&R.

Also, there's a little dash mark about halfway between center and edge in the 12:00 alignment.

Thanks a million.

AND YAY FOR THE FORUM UPDATE!  Great work.

more images.  I thought they were small enough, but I may need to do sumpin about that.

Don't believe yours is a BS&R. The handle looks pretty short. That teardrop hang hole is wrong. The size on the top of the handle is wrong, BS&R marked their skillets on the bottom. It does have that deep V on the underside of the handle, but that is the only similarity to a BS&R, that I see. I have seen those type of skillets, but I am not sure who made them.

Thanks Dwayne and Duke.

I knew something was up with the handle, but the placement of the heat ring still looked like BS&R to me.  I appreciate the info.  The unknown unmarked ones drive me crazy. :)
