ID help for Dutch Oven please?

I'd like to get a lid for this dutch oven which came from my mother's basement, but do not know the brand. It has a flat bottom, and no markings except for "PU8" on the bottom. Any help regarding what size/brand lid to search for (or info about the DO itself) would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Susan, and welcome to WAGS! :)

Sorry to make you wait, but I was researching this one!

Now, I am not real good with Dutch Ovens... but the double stops on that bail handle really remind me of Martin Stove and Range. 

Now hopefully one of the folks who is more familiar with Martin, will stop by and either correct me... :) or confirm.

The markings are a bit different, but otherwise this is a dead ringer for my BS&R DO that I inherited from my grandpa. Even the bail and "ears" are the same.

Not BS&R. BS&R DOs have a pouring spout. Can you add a photo of the bail attachment area? Many used that style of bail, Lodge and Wagner come to mind right now. I'm wondering lodge.

Sorry about that, I goofed. I'm pretty sure it's Lodge too. I just went down and looked at it again, and I have it tagged Lodge. Here are the pics of mine, with the lid and bottom marking:

Well thanks to all who helped figure this out! I'd love to know the approximate age if anyone would want to hazard a guess… Now it's time to go lid shopping. Any ideas on the going rate for Lodge #8 DO lids?

The lids never seemed to change...  I see them around for anywhere from 5.00 to 10.00 bucks at rummage sales.

Frank,
I have the same DO. Is the lid that came with yours heavier than the cast used on the base?

To accommodate the spikes I always believed the lids had to be a bit thicker.

Would be great to have that belief confirmed. I've just never seen a lightly cast Lodge lid with the spike drippers.

One more question - the DO's I see are often described by capacity rather than number. Does anyone know offhand how many quarts the Lodge #8 DO is?

Susan, According to Lodge's website, their #8 DO's have a 5 quart capacity.

Susan, I suspect you can find a lid (or a whole DO on either Ebay or on Shop Goodwill online. The drip nipples on the underside of the lid is a dead giveaway for lodge. Just be sure you get a size 8. If you want a new one just Goggle lodge cast iron. for Goodwill follow the link below.  Click on Tableware and kitchen ware, then click on cookware.
