Just how is this NOT supposed to make some of us envious?     :)

Lee, the snow removal Fairy arrived on 12/22 during the night and waved her magic wand, causing all snow to magically disappear!
( pssst... the temperature hit 70° at 7 AM).

Now I special ordered this so that I could go out the 23rd to get my Iron Mountain 12, and kept the fairy on standby to stave of any further snowfall until yesterday's auction was completed!

The snow has once again begun to fall... 20 minutes ago.

The Forum hasn't been seeing many pictures lately of new iron (or aluminum), so some motivation is necessary!  :D

Now git out there everyone, and find some more! 8-)

Not to take things too far off topic, but Mike, you made me feel a little better about the foot of snow that fell here today in upstate NY, and the minus 10 F wind chill (that's minus 23 C in your language. :)

Cheryl, you do make me envious with your finds. I had never heard of a flop griddle before this, I learn something new every day here. Really nice hunt!

I am hearing 10 inches of snow there today....glad you were able to get out and find some nice pieces. Save some for me, I will probably amble up that way when my wife gets out of school for the summer.

WOW!  Can we see more photos of the flop/flip griddle...  I'm still hunting/holding out for one with individual pans like the one on page 47 of the Griswold 1895-96 catalog reprint Perry does.  If you ever find one of those and have run out of storage I'll hold on to it for you.  I swear I'm getting out into the wild soon.  Thanks for the motivation Cheryl!

This is the flop griddle opened up.
I found the design intriguing...

It has little cast feet on the inside to keep the top (with circles) from smushing the pancakes...

We have lots of nice pics of these over in the Foundry section also (members only).... for Highland Foundry....

Very different from the S&P Flop griddle design....

(I still haven't come across a Gris or Wagner flop in the wild...) :)

Thanks for those photos and the reminder to check out the foundry section.  How many flop griddles in you collection at this point?  I know Randy E. has a few.  Once the cookstove is in I'm going to have to get serious about finding one as I am very curious about the cooking process!  Thanks for pointing out the little feet.  A worthy consideration I'm thinking...
