Jotul 2.2 L DO
« on: January 29, 2014, 02:51:46 PM »
Got this piece today,

Jotul  2.2L  DO ,  the top at 1st looked pitted  but I believe it has a hammered look design on it,   still needs a cleaning

Any info on it would be nice,

Oh lol  also  picked up  a Naughty Nellie cast iron  shoe jack,  but I think it's a repro based on the rough casting

thanks
Mike

Here's a 1978 list of products in the US.  I see the pot but not the lid.  This was late in their distribution so it may not have still been offered.  If I guess right from the pictures, the Jotul name is on the handle of the lid and there is a raised rim to fit inside the bottom.  Otherwise I would have considered it a marriage sine the handle styles are different.

I've attached it as a pdf, the picture would have been too small to read otherwise.

My apologies, in reading the fine print it says lids are supplied with all the shallow pots, so you seem to have a complete pan.

Thanks Tom

I noticed the different style on handles as well,  on the lid ( other handle underneath) is stamped   2.2L  ,  matching the pot size,

So basically it's not an old piece, shucks ... paid $15 for it

When you see that style of lettering you are post-WW2, likely 1960's - 70's.  Still very well made.
